The National Eisteddfod is the largest cultural festival in Europe, and is held in a different part of Wales each year. During the first week of August, the Festival is held to showcase and celebrate Welsh music, literature, art and much more, and in doing so, it attracts up to 170,000 visitors and hosts over 200 stalls. This year we are very pleased to announce that our organisation will have a presence at the festival for the very first time.

In coordination with our Welsh Language Staff Network, I have been busy organising and preparing our stand at the festival, which will be held this year in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales.

Throughout the week of the Eisteddfod (3-10 August 2024), our staff will be on hand to chat with members of the public who visit our stand, which will be positioned alongside stands by other organisations associated with the UK Government Welsh Language Services. Our organisation has a legal duty to provide services in Welsh, and we’re keen to raise awareness of our services and how you can access them if you need to.

At the event, you can join us to explore the many ways you can use the Welsh language with us:

  • information is published in Welsh on our website
  • electronic forms are available in Welsh on our website
  • our customer contact centre can deal with calls in Welsh
  • you can provide written statements to us in Welsh
  • we can conduct witness interviews in Welsh
  • you can call our witness appeal telephone number and leave a message in Welsh
  • we welcome job applications in Welsh

Whilst we’re at the Eisteddfod, we’ll also be conducting a short survey to find out how we can improve our Welsh language services further. Please feel free to visit us at the Eisteddfod festival to take the survey and have your say. We look forward to seeing you on there.
