Investigation

We began an investigation in November 2022 following a referral from Devon and Cornwall Police about whether two officers provided an appropriate level of care to a man at St Erth railway station who later died. The investigation considered whether the officers took adequate steps to safeguard the man after he was found apparently drunk and vulnerable. At the end of the investigation we concluded the two officers had a case to answer for gross misconduct.
