A former Surrey Police officer with alleged links to an organised crime group is due in court to face multiple corruption charges, following an Independent Office for Police Conduct directed investigation.

Adam Davies, 28, who was based at Guildford and resigned in October 2021, will attend Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 16 August to face eight charges of misconduct in public office, relating to unlawfully accessing information on computer systems without a policing purpose and providing information to an organised crime group.

Following a referral from Surrey Police we began our directed investigation in January 2021 which was conducted by Surrey Police’s Anti-Corruption Unit under our direction.

In February 2022 the investigation was completed and a file of evidence was sent to the Crown Prosecution Service which authorised the charges.
