Allegations of attempting to pursue inappropriate relationship - West Mercia

Read information here about our investigation into allegations against a West Mercia Police officer of attempting to pursue an inappropriate sexual or emotional relationship with a woman victim of crime he had met through his duties.  Our investigation began following a referral about the conduct of PC Mark Cranfield in July 2021. On completion of our investigation in 2022, we sent a file of evidence to the Crown Prosecution Service which has authorised criminal charges of misconduct in public office and three counts of computer misuse. PC Cranfield has resigned from the force.
