Final written warning for constable over unauthorised pursuit - Lincolnshire Police

Read information about our investigation into allegations that a Lincolnshire constable had carried out an unauthorised pursuit prior to a collision in which Kyle Johnson died at Skegness on 4 March 2022. At a disciplinary hearing on 12 January 2023, Police Constable Jared Brereton was given a final written warning after gross misconduct was proven. Allegations against another constable who was accused of failing to challenge or report PC Brereton's actions, were not proven.

**Update 14 November 2023: At an inquest held in Lincoln, the Coroner returned an outcome that Kyle Johnson died as a result of a head injury sustained in a road traffic collision.
