Use of force at Romford - Metropolitan Police Service

Read information about our investigation into a complaint about the use of force by two Metropolitan Police Service officers during an incident at Romford on 5 January 2020, which resulted in a man suffering a serious head injury. Following our investigation a trial at City of London Magistrates Court concluded on 14 May 2021 when PC Jack Wood was found guilty of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and common assault; and former PC Archie Payne was convicted of common assault.
