Rotherham CSA investigations - South Yorkshire Police

Investigation

As a result of the publicity around the Alexis Jay report published in August 2014, South Yorkshire Police began to receive complaints about allegations that they failed to effectively investigate reports of CSA in the town.

The force referred these complaints to us and the allegations have since grown into the second largest set of independent investigations we have ever carried out, after Hillsborough.

We published our overarching report into Operation Linden in June 2022, detailing the findings of 91 investigations about SYP's handling of reports of CSA between 1997 and 2013. You can find more details and read the report here.
