Hertfordshire police officer charged with ABH

PC Stephen Dalton, from Hertfordshire Constabulary, has been charged with actual bodily harm (ABH) following an Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) investigation. 

The charge relates to an incident in Watford on 4 October 2019, where a man sustained injuries to his face following his arrest. 

Our investigation was completed in February 2020 and the evidence referred to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) who made the decision to charge PC Dalton.

The first hearing is at St Albans Magistrates Court on 23 June 2020.
