The independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting of Jermaine Baker on 11 December 2015 was completed in November 2016.

A file of evidence in relation to the actions of the firearms officer who shot Mr Baker was then referred to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

We are aware of the CPS decision today to take no further action in this case.

Our report, including the investigator’s opinion as to whether or not any officers have a case to answer for misconduct, has been provided to the Metropolitan Police Service and we await its response.
